I am looking at this item.

It is a Video Interface for the Volkswagen RCD 510 Radio.
I am considering the purchase. I went through the manual and it said if the
interface is not installed properly it may damage the LCD Screen. This concerns me.
Is this a common issue? Please advise on this. The instructions on the product
manual are not very clear on how to install and the RCD 510 is too expensive to
experiment on.
Also, there are a couple of things I don't understand about installation. First off,
I wan't to know if hooking up the Reversing Camera to the CVBS input will get the
feature up and running out of the box, or if I will have to hook something else up so
the unit will know my car is in reverse and automatically display the reversing
camera.
Secondly, the item description says • Connected video source control with original
touchscreen (supported only for some DVD players). I would like to know which DVD
players are supported to be controlled with the touch screen. Also, I would be
interested in knowing if the same is applicable to a TV Tuner, and if so, which are
supported. Is there any special installation required to get the touchscreen to
control the DVD and/or TV Tuner? Can both be controlled by the touch screen, or is
it one or the other?
Thirdly, I would like to know if it is possible to hook up the DAB button on the RCD
510 (which I don't use, as there are no DAB Broadcasts in my country) to control the
Source Input, rather than using the Remote Control. I see there is a mode input on
the interface (which I presume is designed to connect a button so that the unit can
cycle through sources, but please correct me if I a wrong), so I imagine this could
be done. What do I need to do to get this working?
Fourthly, I would like to know if the NAVIGATION connection (RGB input) is compatible
with the Garmin GVN 53, and if the GVN 53 can be controlled by the touch interface of
the unit. Is there any special installation required to get the touchscreen to
control the GVN?
