Hello,
I´ve got a Multimedia Video Interface with CAN, Model: QVI – BM09 – Main – V5.4 and the associated rear camera
My car is a BMW E61 with additional installed CIC and a 8,8” CID
In the interface menue I set
Car-Model: E90
Reverse-Signal: Lamp (even at set: CAN no function)
NAVI_Model: Default
DIP-Switch: 7 = ON
The rear camera doesn´t work. It seems that the interface doesn´t switch to the rear camera at reverse gear.
All other functions (AV1 – AV3, I-Drive-operation, menue settings etc.) are working well.
I controlled the wiring and measured the voltages.
- Grey wire of the cam converter-box at reverse gear: 12 V
- Yellow / black wire cam converter-box: no Voltage at reverse gear
Next I set reverse-Signal to “CAN”. – No reaction, back to “Lamp” setting
So I connected 12 V to the Yellow / black wires, now the camera got power at reverse gear, but still no picture at the rear camera input. (The red led at the interface is on. The green led is off)
I tried to feed a (PAL) video signal in the “Rear_C” cvbs-Input at reverse gear. No picture
Can You please answer the following questions, so that I can search out the fault.
1. How does the interface recognize the reverse-signal irrespective of the can-bus?
Is there a separate connection “reverse gear”?
Does the interface switch over to rear-cam automatically by a video-signal input at cvbs “R-Cam”?
2. Is the 12 V voltage constantly at the interface-connector "R- CAM"
3. Are the pins on connector "R-CAM" at pos. no. 2 (red)and no.3 (black) Ok?
4. Does it matter if there’s a PAL or a NTSC-signal at the R-CAM input?
Thanks for answering.
